City Guides

I am going to be adding to this over the next couple of months… whenever I travel I wish I had someone regularly updating me on where to go in a particular city and so many bloggers out there are doing just that… so I thought I would put together a list of them here to help not just me next time I go somewhere, but hopefully you too. If you have any ideas for good, recent city guides on the bloggersphere then do let me know….

  • Auckland 1 by Tea & Black Figs - the best places to eat in the city.

  • Auckland 2 by Tea & Black Figs - I MUST get around to doing this….
  • Copenhagen 1 by kika Design Toronto - an ideal starting point for a the visit to the Great Dane… lots of recommendations for funky bars, restaurants and design shops from my favourite Canadian design bloggers..

  • Copenhagen 2 by Kika Design Toronto- heavy on the design (as you might expect) with much of the post taken up with a visit to a furniture factory, but also a fantastic shop and breakfast cafe as well as a general sense of the city.

  • London by Tea and Black Figs - The best cafes (in my humble op) in London.
  • Los Angeles 1 and 2 by Tea and Black Figs -  two short posts about food, coffee and shops around the area of Silverlake
  • Los Angeles by my dear friend Anna in the Observer - your guide to hidden LA, from secret magic castles to literary tours. I’d look at this one before mine. She is a city guide pro.
  • Reykjavik by Kika Design Toronto - a brief stopover, but a nice summary of where to get a good coffee, a good meal and most importantly a good ice-cream. Also features Icelandic designers and design shops. Two, more in depth Reykjavik posts by Kika can be found here and here.

Sapporo, Japan. (Image sourced at Kika Design)

  • Sapporo (Japan) by Kika Design Toronto - the usual excellent in-depth descriptions (with lots of photos) of great places to eat and wonderful design shops from this super-well traveled Canadian pair.
  • Stockholm by Emma’s  Design Blog - a completely comprehensive and charming guide to the city. Everything you could hope for if you were heading that way.
